Itinerary description
An enjoyable outing from the Sorteny car park, up the Rialb valley, turning right near the Cabana dels Planells de Rialb and climbing up the Port de Siguer 2397m. Traverse right and then ski down to Estany Blau. Skins go back on to cross the lake and climb up to the NW shouder of Pic de Thoumaset, above the col with Pic de l'Estany Blau. Skin up onto the north ridge of Thoumasset, or bootpack, depending on snow conditions. Eventually you will need to leave the skis and continue to the summit on foot, up a rocky slope. Lovely views from a small summit ridge.
Return the same way you came, skiing down to the lake and skinning back up to the Port de Siguer. The ski down from the Port de S to the Rialb valley is particularly good.
