Itinerary description
Yes, it's a ridiculous name for a mountain (in English that is) but Ok is an impressive shield volcano located west of the Kaldidalur mountain road. Its slopes have the absolutely perfect angle for downhill skiing on cross-country skis - no Telemark turns or plows necessary!
Unlike its neighbour Skjaldbreiður, Ok has been subjected to the erosion of glaciers at least once, this greatly reduces the likelihood of your skis finding a lava outcrop through the snow. The perfect mountain for poor skiers!
