Itinerary description
28.03.2018
We start the ascent with skis and skins from the guest-house's door, where we are going to spend the next night. We cross a short flat part near the village and after less the 1 Km the slope begins to be steeper. We can see some rests of plate avalanche in this area, so we go up with a lot of precautions. We follow the ridge altering smooth and steep slope. The last rise that we perform is a bit critical for the snow condition and some curves are complicated. This ski tour could be larger along the same ridge, but at one point we decide to go back and start the descent due to the bad visibility. The view over Ushguli village skiing down is wonderful. This descent with good snow can be stunning. We find good snow just in a small part in the middle. We can ski down till the door of the guest house without taking out the skis.
