Launensee - Arpelistock

Some weeks ago we decided to do the first 3000 of the season. As the weather was good for all weekend, we decided to finished a bit early on Friday an ascend till the refuge the same day.
We parked the car in Launensee, near Gstaad where we put our skis and start ascending to the Geltenhutte. In about two hours we arrived on the refuge. The diner was really good and the couple who are running the refuge were really nice.
The first part is a bit tricky due to the path is going through the middle of the forest and sometimes the slope is high. After this first part, the path it become easy till the refuge.
The second day we decided to do a circular way. We climbed up, first following the path that goes to the Wildhorn and then we just continue to the south-west direction.
This part of the route is also not-difficult and not-expose to a high risk of avalanches.
To descent from the Arpelistock to Geltenhutte we did it through the other side of the mountain. In this part we could met some other people that they were also climbing to the Arpelistock. Here the quality of snow was really good.
To descent from the Geltenhutte to Launensee we just did it in the same way as to climb up.
To sum it we can spend a great time, with a wonderful views at the top on a not-difficult route.
