Itinerary description

We spend the night at the Grand Hotel Ushba in Mazeri (a beautiful guest house located in a wonderful place near mount Ushba) and in the morning we start our route from the hotel. We follow the not-asphalted trail down till the river. After crossing it, we wear skis with skins and we start the ascent into the woods. After 4,5 Km the trees zone is finished and the slope is also smoother. We cross a flat area with a mountain hut and we start going up again with stronger slope. We reach the peak that is very smooth and rounded. We would like to continue and climb a peak close where we are, but the avalanche risk is big and we decide to ski back to the hotel. The first part of the descent is nice and with good snow. The woods part is a bit more complicated due to the obstacles, holes and steep slopes. We can ski till the river at the side of the hotel. Nice and easy ski-touring.
