Colle della Rosa dei Banchi - impianti di Chardonney a Champorcher - Valle d'Aosta
Utilizzando gli impianti di Chardonney, 1427 m. - telecabina e successiva seggiovia (è possibile biglietto per corsa di sola andata) - si guadagna un bel pezzo di percorso per portarsi nella bella conca di Dondena da dove si diramano numerosi percorsi sci alpinisti. La tradizionale alternativa è portarsi in località Mont Blanc sopra Champorcher e percorrere la lunga stradina che con moderata pendenza e traversando tutti i pendii della valle - in direzione Ovest (prestare attenzione, slavine, nel caso di forte innevamento) si porta infine a Dondena - circa 6 Km.
La fine degli impianti raggiunge la quota di 2492 m. di Cimetta Rossa. Da qui ci si abbassa nella conca - direzione Nord - Ovest - perdendo circa 250 m. Normalmente o per stretti tornanti iniziali su pista segnata dal "gatto delle nevi", traccia che è facile trovare anche lungo tutto il percorso, o sul pendio aperto.
Al termine della discesa si arriva al ponticello - 2220 m. di Dondena - sul torrente che proviene dal vallone dei Banchi appena sopra e poco distante dal Rif. Dondena (chiuso nella stagione invernale).
Ora dopo una piccola risalita si imbocca, invertendo il percorso, il lungo ed evidente vallone - direzione Sud - Ovest - che tra saliscendi solo in fondo sotto la imponente mole della Rosa dei Banchi sul lato sinistro, incomincia a guadagnare decisamente quota. Seguire l'andamento sinuoso della conformazione della valle, pervenendo su terreno dolce e aperto sulla nostra sinistra si individua subito l'evidente depressione della sella ed il suo tratto ripido finale - l'eventuale salita alla Cima della Rosa dei Banchi non si effettua con gli sci, percorso delicato e ancora lungo per la via di cresta. Oppure proseguendo - in direzione - Ovest - ci si trova in prossimità della testata della valle e del suo largo punto culminante. Da qui si può raggiungere una piccola depressione della cresta sopra il colle de la Balma.
Difficoltà: MS se si esclude il vero colle della Rosa dei Banchi.
Tempo: 3 ore di salita
Il percorso si può ritenere un lungo e appagante itinerario di fuori pista. In discesa, volendo, si può facilmente scendere aggirando il panettone del Monte Rascias, (altra bella gita della zona) passando dalla conca del lago di Miserin e poi a Dondena.
Dalla località delle casette di Dondena seguire il tracciato sulla strada battuta dal gatto delle nevi che porta con bel percorso di discesa sul fondo valle ad uno skilift grazie al quale si rientra sulle piste battute di Champorcher.

Using plants Chardonney , 1427 m . - Cable car and chair lift next (you can ride one-way ticket ) - you earn a nice chunk of path to take in the beautiful valley of Dondena where : there are numerous cross country ski mountaineers. The traditional alternative is to go into town Mont Blanc above Champorcher and travel the long road that moderate slope and crossing all the slopes of the valley - Westbound ( pay attention , avalanches , in the case of heavy snow ) it eventually leads to Dondena - about 6 Km
The end of the plant reaches the height of 2492 m . Cimetta Rossa. From here you go down in the valley - heading north - west - losing about 250 m . Normally narrow bends or initials on the track marked by " snowmobile " a track that is also easy to find along the way , or on the open slope .
After the descent we arrive at the bridge - 2220m . Dondena on the stream that comes from the valley of the benches just above and not far from the ref Dondena (closed in winter) .
Now after a short climb, take the path to reversing the long and clear valley - heading south - west between ups and downs just down below the imposing size of the Rosa dei Banchi on the left side began to gain much altitude. Follow the sinuous shape of the valley , arriving fresh on the ground and opened on our left immediately identifies the apparent depression of the saddle and its steep final - any climb to the top of the Rosa dei Banchi fails with the skiing, and yet gentle trail along the way to the ridge. Or continuing - direction - west - we are located near the head of the valley and its wide climax. From here you can get a small depression of the ridge above the col de la Balma .
Difficulty: MS if you exclude the real hill of the Rosa dei Banchi.
Time: 3 hours of climbing
The path can be considered a long and rewarding journey of off-piste . Down, if you wish, you can easily get off bypassing the cake of Mount Rascias , (another lovely day in the area) passing from the basin of the lake and then to Miserin Dondena .
From the location of the houses Dondena follow the track of the snowmobile on the road that leads to beautiful path down the valley to a ski lift with which you fall on groomed trails Champorcher .
