Itinerary description
Highly recommended! A gorgeous peak with astonishing views down onto Lake Nahuel Huapi all the way up, and great views the other way towards Cerro Tronador from the top. The path from the road is good and it is not difficult to carry skis up through the forest. Eventually you will able to start skinning up the dirt track, depending on where the snow line is. Once past the Refugio Lopez it is a steady steep climb to the top - and a great ski back down. It is known for huge windslab avalanches, so you need to be sure about snow stability.
It is easiest to access with a car, but you can take bus 10 from Bailoche and get off where the bus turns off the tar road onto the dirt road to Colonia Suisse.
