Itinerary description
New ski touring outing and still on the GSB side. Departure from the BSB car park for an arrival at Dents du Grand Lé. Classic route to the valley of Drône, then the climb to Les Dents is without dead time, there is practically no flat to recover. Difficult climb also because of high temperatures and sun. That day, there was about 10 to 30 centimeters of fresh snow, fallen the day before. I didn’t go all the way to the top, because there were a lot of small flows, wet snow, that automatically triggered all around. Mistake of the day: I started the hike too late, I arrived at the summit a little afternoon, with solar radiation, shorter nights and high temperature of the day, the powder snow had turned and became very heavy... The descent was difficult and very tiring, almost inskiable. Arrived in the Combe, a little frustrated with this descent, I left in the direction of Telliers to see if the snow was a little better in the protected part of the sun, which was not the case, because it had also rained very high the day before and the snow was crumbling.
