Itinerary description
New outing in ski touring and always (it is not a surprise!) on the St-Bernard side where I am sure to find, at the beginning of spring, the essential element for ski touring: snow! Departure from Bourg St-Bernard for an arrival at the mythical North Pass of Menouve, where is still, or at least what remains, the arrival of the mythical gondola of the space Super Saint-Bernard, which unfortunately went bankrupt, about fifteen years ago. I wasn’t sure if I was going to the top, because I was the only one in the Menouvian Valley that day. In addition, it had snowed 10 to 15 centimeters of fresh snow the previous day and the last 300 meters, very steep, known as avalanche, in short all this did not inspire me so much the desire to go to the pass. Fortunately, in the valley of Menouve, A couple passed me and made a trail to the top. As the snow cover looked very stable, only one visible avalanche start in the valley, I still decided to go to the top. At the top, the view of Italy is grandiose. Magical descent into the valley in a very good powder! It was so good, that at the end of combe, I put the skins back and I went up, to the penultimate pylon, to make a little powpow!
