Bourg-Saint-Pierre - Crêta Vella

Première vrai rando à ski avec un assez gros dénivelé (+1000m). Départ depuis Bourg-St-Pierre avec comme but d'arriver à Crêta Vella. Condition météo optimale ce jour-là (soleil et pas de vent). Montée très soutenue depuis la sortie de la forêt jusqu'à l'alpage de Chamlong. J'ai suivi une trace et je me suis retrouvé dans des pentes très raides, à faire des conversions chaque 10 mètres... (bon entraînement pour les conversions !) Après quand on ne connait pas, en ski de rando, il n'y a pas trop le choix que de suivre une trace... À noter la présence importante de neige soufflée et de congères depuis la sortie de la forêt jusqu'à Champlong ainsi que jusqu'à Crêta de Velle. Paysages magnifiques maculés de blancs en arrivant à l'alpage de Champlong. La montée de l'alpage jusqu'à Crêta Vella est moins soutenue, mais ce n'est pas une partie de plaisir pour autant. Descente depuis Crêta Vella sur une neige poudreuse croutée de 5mm. Attention aux pierres et cailloux cachés par le vent lors de la descente depuis Champ Long jusqu'à l'entrée dans la forêt.

First real ski trip with a fairly large difference in altitude (+1000m). Departure from Bourg-St-Pierre with the goal of reaching Crêta Vella. Optimal weather conditions that day (sun and no wind). Very sustained climb from the exit of the forest to the Chamlong pasture. I followed a track and I found myself in very steep slopes, making conversions every 10 meters... (good training for conversions!) After when you do not know, in ski touring, there is not too much choice that to follow a track... Note the significant presence of blown snow and snowdrifts from the exit of the forest to Champlong and Crêta de Velle. Magnificent landscapes smeared with whites when arriving at the Champlong pasture. The ascent from the alpine pasture to Crêta Vella is less sustained, but it is not a pleasure. Descent from Crêta Vella on a crumbling snow of 5mm. Watch out for stones and pebbles hidden by the wind when descending from Champ Long to the entrance into the forest.
