This is the second of the four crossing routes prepared by Nevadensis Mountain Guides, with the support of the guide Alexander Serafimov (Mountain Guides of Bulgaria), to know the Southern Carpathians, also known as Transylvanian Alps.

After two hectic days we have finally been able to rest in Villa Camelia, a charming little hotel, the building built in 1884 was designed by one of the architects who collaborated with Karel Liman in the construction of the Peles Castle. Although the hotel rooms are large, the common spaces are small, but very cozy and with pleasant treatment. After an excellent breakfast we are prepared for the hard day that awaits us.

On our bus we went to the BUSTENI area, where we took the cable car that takes us to the area known as Babele (2200), where we have a bar that will serve as logistical support for the return. It is an emblematic TF, which directly attacks the walls of 600-800 meters that close the massif on the east side. The TF works from 9.30, with rises every 30 'and the last descent is at 15.45 important detail to schedule the crossing.

We put skins at level 2200 and left for the area known as Chardak ("balcony" in Turkish), passing by the vicinity of a curious stone formation similar to a Greek sphinx (SFINXUL). From Chardak we surround the massif that we have to our left, which forces us to go through a quite delicate northeast ridge, especially the first section that forces to foquear in descent, knowing that you can not fall. It is a step that requires previous experience in crossing. Overcome this obstacle we have the first descent of the day, with pretty good snow at the beginning that soon becomes hooked. In spite of everything, excellent descent as shown in one of the photos.

We return to place seals and already continued climb to the top of the OMU peak at 2,505 meters. Excellent views both on Muntenia and on the region of Transylvania.

The route that marks the track includes the up and down in TF, which greatly alters the profiles of the route, but I think it is important to include the entire trip to have a global idea of the territory displayed and total time spent. If we discount those sections of TF, the real distance was 12.1 km.

While we await the arrival of TF back, we take the opportunity to savor a Ursus and Timisoreana beers, according to the taste of each one, duly accompanied by Trevélez sausages. The presence of Sérgio Álvarez has been key to have the best Alpujarran product in the most inaccessible points.

In the afternoon we dedicate ourselves to the cultural visits of SINAIA: First visit to the Peles Castle, one of the most important buildings of 19th century Europe, built between 1873 and 1914 by Carlos I, first king of Romania. Work of the architect Karel Liman. First building illuminated with electric light for which a hydroelectric power plant of its own had to be built. It had been heating since 1888. The Castle was the summer residence of the court, which in that way enjoyed much more pleasant temperatures than the 38th that can be reached in Bucharest in summer. The presence of the monarch in SINAIA attracted the Romanian bourgeoisie to the area, which explains the large number of existing palaces.

Then visit the Visit to the Monastery built by Mihail Cantacuzino on his return from Mount Sinai. After five years of work, it began to function in 1695 with only 12 monks. At present the religious group is presided over by the Great Church that dates from 1843.

In short, fantastic day where sport and culture mix. Great work by Jesús Espinosa and Alexander Serafimov.
