Itinerary description
An easy and accessible trail. You will be traveling the "back alley" of the farm land. Beautiful. Stop at the Lindwick beach - a hidden river beach, the covered bridge and just amazing picturesque scenery.
Lac Megantic is beautifully built around its lac, like a majestic phoenix it raised from its awfull tragedy. My heart goes out to its people, the Méganticois and Méganticoise.
On you way, stop at Gould, on the corners of the 108 and the the 257. A quaint little village of 40 something houses, who host the Inn La ruée vers Gould. It's a Scotchish Inn offering a 5 course dinner, boarding and breakfast for 175$ for 2!!! we made our reservation when we past the village on our way to Mégantic for our return that nigth. Very good food, excellent service, welcoming hosts and finished of our dinner experience on the back porch looking at a sea of fireflies in the rolling valley.
We were unfortunately too tired to walk across the road to a fantastic littérature/café store. French poetry/essays/rare edition new and sometimes 2nd hand. Very impressive. Nice way to finish of the evening too with its host Michel. I highly recommand that you put this place on your summer travelling itinerary. Both places shuts down after Thanksgiving. 😊
