**If you get to the Limonite Creek Bridge at 53km of the Copper River Logging road, turnaround and take your first left to get onto the Telkwa Pass Trail**
This trail changes regularly. There have been companies that have cleaned this pass up a few times, cleared rocks and slides, created creek crossings, widened areas and made it very smooth and easy to travel, but it only takes a big rainfall and or snow/glaciers melting quickly to create rivers which wash parts of the road away and create new slides. I'd suggest checking with Groups like "Telkwa Pass Info Sharing Group" on Facebook for more up to date conditions.
The trail being widened has made it much easier for pickups to get through this pass.
Along the way you will see many waterfalls coming off Redemption Peak as well the glaciers that sit on top of it, also Blue, Top and Tauw Lake which are a very nice greenish blue colour.
There is a campsite called "Blue Lake Campsite at Top Lake as well.
It is 41km from Telkwa to the East end of the pass
It is 52.5km from Terrace to the west end of the pass

Is July to early to ride the telkwa trail ?

Not usually no Kevin, I have been able to drive through the entire way as early as May. Today you can drive through no problem with anything 4x4, good tires and clearance.

I have been to the pass this year yes, as of today June 4th there is a big snow slide across the trail and a long stretch still covered in snow and bent over brush.
For a bicycle, if it had bigger wider fat tires would be preferred, there is a lot of sharp jagged rocks for the majority of the trail that goes alongside the mountains from the Terrace side plus a few really steep loose rocks and boulder uphill climbs and descents until you get to the big lake sandbar.
After the big lake for the next 9kms there are a few big hills and the biggest one is a good 400M of loose rocks and gravel, but aside from them it’s in pretty good condition for a bicycle.
