Which section is challenging? I was going to cross between deer lake and corner brook next to old man’s pond? That section ok?

The only real bad section on this run is coming up from Humber Valley Resort and coming back across into Hughes brook, not much of a trail and some boggy rough sections. Besides that it's all pretty good.

Doing west coast trip. We will be coming up from Corner Brook to HVR. Just reading about challenging area on trail from Hughes Brook to HVR. Are we better taking upper trail (Oldmans pond area) to get too HVR? It be few more Km but we don't want to run into bog holes.

There’s nothing major, maybe 1km or slightly boggy section just before coming back into the resort. Smiley trail is the route I use in and out of the resort to get into Hughes Brook.

No trouble, need anything else let me know. If your looking to avoid any bog use camp 10 road and come back towards the resort by Deer Lake

The southern section is part of the Smiley Trail, from Hughes Brook to HVR.
