Itinerary description
Start and ends at the Tonto entrance gate off North 12th Street. All kinds of ways to extend this run branching off this loop. This course has a few short steep climbs if traveling counter clockwise, and descents if going the opposite way. Takes you thru some creekbeds on the west side of the loop. Immediately to the west of the 12th Street gate the trail can be quite muddy (and stay muddy weeks after a good rain, when everything else has long ago dried out), otherwise the whole trail is generally covered by rocks and boulders. Take your time. This is a great run to enjoy the desert bloom in spring (March-April).
